lidSurvival Kit

I finally got to watch Battle Royale. It was pretty cool and nice.

I always thought this movie would be heavy, but it turns out that it’s actually quite light. Sure, it’s bloody, but the movie itself will not take you into it and swallow you whole or something like that.

Well, this is not to say that the main idea of the movie is light since, well, it is about killing people you know and all that, but the movie itself and the storytelling is pretty light. This is in comparison with movies like Road to Perdition or The Talented Mr. Ripley, which, in my opinion are pretty heavy movies. This may be partially because of cultural differences or something, which affects people’s ways of expression, but… Well, I’m not really sure, since I haven’t really watched enough Japanese Movies to tell. The only other movie I watched was Taiyou no Uta, and I thought I was watching a Flash Card movie or something. It failed to get to me, and it was supposed to be a moving story. But I still love YUI. :D I’ve watched a bunch of Live Action series, but they mostly had comedy interleaved between drama scenes. Or maybe it’s all an illusion, since, when I think about it, the acting in some of the LA series I’ve watched were pretty convincing, and it did kind of get to me, so I don’t really know anymore. Yes, this is probably unimportant rambling.

The lesson that can be learned from this story is that poisoning is a very risky way of killing someone. Just cut them up or shoot them point blank. That way, you have a 99.99% probabilty of killing the right person.

And of course, that lids can save lives. o/
